Spring is right around the corner and Keratin treatments are in full swing! We have all your answers to your questions about this amazing service!
What is the difference between a Normal Keratin treatment and the Express Blowout?
A Keratin Express treatment in our salon takes about an hour which is less time involved than a normal keratin treatment. During your appointment, keratin will be sealed into your hair to lock out frizz and reduce the amount of curl in your hair. The Keratin Express treatment will give your hair a softer, smoother texture for up to 6 weeks, and you can wash your hair in just 8 hours after leaving the salon. A normal Keratin Complex treatment will give longer lasting results of up to five/six months and requires a 72-hour waiting period before you can wash your hair.
What should I expect of my hair after treatment?
The results are very noticeable. Your hair will be more manageable and easy to style, & will be resistant to humidity. It will feel softer & silkier and will have luminous shine. Also reduces blow-dry time!
Should I color my hair before or after the treatment?
If you would like to receive a hair color service as well as a keratin treatment, our salon recommends that you receive your hair color or highlight service FIRST, and then have the keratin treatment done directly afterwards. This will seal the color in, making it last longer & appear more vibrant. If you cannot have both services in the same day, and you choose to have the keratin treatment first, we recommend waiting at least two weeks before receiving hair color or highlights.
Why are products to important after treatment?
Coppola makes a shampoo and conditioner and also other styling agents. But some are pretty pricey! Do they really make a difference? YES. These products generally contain keratin and botanical extracts that were in your treatment, so each time you use them you will be refreshing and enhancing your results.
Shampoo is the most important; using the wrong shampoo can strip your treatment out faster. If you do not want to buy the recommended keratin treatment shampoo, look for one which is free of sulfates and sodium chloride. Remember, the recommended shampoo will not only protect your treatment but also enhance it. Like a spray tan, every time you wash your hair, you will fade a little bit of the coating off. So if it’s a lazy Sunday, and your hair is a little greasy but not awful…wait until Monday to shampoo. It may save you a few days on the other end!
